Urs Fischer: Lovers, The Exhibition You Need To See At Museo Jumex

https://www.instagram.com/p/CclFWnCs-Ys/

The art exhibition by Urs Fischer, called Lovers, is in Mexico City for the first time, and it's now open for visitors at the Museo Jumex of Contemporary Art.

Lovers aims to pay tribute to Fischer’s career. In this exhibition, the plastic artist delights us with a collection put together over more than 30 years, in which he tries to transmit his own creativity, depth, humor, and skill. It features a mix of pieces made by himself, old and new, as well as other works he’s collected over time from private and public collections.

Divided into several museum halls, each one has a different theme that hopes to offer viewers a unique experience.

The Art Pieces
Among the most notable pieces on display, you’ll find The Lovers #2, made specifically for the Jumex Museum, which is more than 10 meters tall. Forged from stainless steel, cast aluminum, and gold leaf, it shows two bodies, one on top of the other in perfect harmony. It’s impossible to miss, just look for it on the main esplanade of the museum!

Our favorite pieces from the exhibition were definitely the two impressive life-size busts. They were made out of an unusual material, wax, since the objective Is to keep them lit like candles throughout their stay in the city. Candles represent our invisible enemy: time.

Lovers will be open to the public from April 2 to September 18, 2022, so start organizing your schedule and set aside a day for this magnificent exhibition.

Tip: The third Thursday of every month, a free guided tour is carried out, and visitors can ask questions about the works on display.
